News | News Index | News Archive Patsy sends his best regards Dear Friends, it's been 8 weeks now since I announced my retirement from touring. During this time I have received an enormous amount of support & best wishes, through the website, text messages, calls and emails. I would dearly love to respond to you all individually but I thought the best way was to thank you all at once here on my website. Life is good at the moment and contrary to the reports regarding my health, No! I am very much alive! I didn't originally make reference to my health in my announcement, but yes it is the main reason I retired from touring. I had a back operation a few years ago and on my doctors' advice if I had continued with the heavy schedule I would be facing another operation, that together with the stresses of been on the road and the pain I finally decided to listen to what the medical team had to say. There comes a time when your body tells you it's time to stop and give it a rest, and believe me I have started to listen and I am getting plenty of rest. I had requests to put my old band of musicians back together and perform at some gigs in Ireland and a couple of festivals, but I am nowhere near ready for this just yet, but I am certainly keeping my options open, it's amazing when one decides to retire the offers of work that come in. I am working on a couple of new projects (involves at all of them sitting down) heading back to the recording studio to work on a few tracks slightly different from what I have done in the past. When we have them polished up and ready to be heard you will be one of the first as I will upload them here on the site. Ok I hope you are all in good spirits and good health to you all, and once again a huge thank you for all your support. Please God we will all meet again someday somewhere.
